Erik Mowinckel is a self-taught electronic musician. Since he began making music around 2008, he has experimented with a wide range of genres before making ambient music.
His style of ambient typically explores abstract and associative narratives through field recordings, electronic- and acoustic instruments with an accent on textures and melody.

About the album, in Erik's own words:
My album "Flere steder samtidig" takes its inspiration from the idea of a place without people, a quiet and unobserved space that disappears as soon as you enter it.
With a mix of field recording and instrumentation I have tried to create organic landscapes that are both uplifting and melancholic through improvisation.
The album title translates as "Many places at once".

have yet to translate the song titles so the artist's intentions are somewhat of a mystery to me, but the wavering surface noise creates the theme of a dialogue between music & technology before becoming invisible to my ears. this conjures memories of listening to music as a child (long before the sterility of digital media), when i rarely took notice of the hiss & pops of records, 8-tracks, tapes, & am radio because they were a normal, necessary aspect of recorded sound. nice to be back again.
