about

In Rune Lohse's own words:

This record is a product of a tour that took place in 2018 and ended out being so good that even four years after its' making the music is still vibrant. Lars-Göran Ulander is a giant in the Swedish free jazz environment and has played on numerous recordings and is still managing to keep a personal and spontaneous attitude. He has among many others collaborated with Per Henrik Wallin and Palle Danielsson. Kuno Kjærbye is a classicly trained violinist with a tendency for dancing. His constant strive for making classical scenes accept and play improvised music has led him in the arms of this group. The background is easily heard throughout the music and is a fresh voice, once again, to remind us all to mix the genres(if such a thing excist). Erik Kimestad is an established trumpet player in Copenhagen and plays with groups such as Kresten Osgood Quintet, Horse Orchestra, Ingebrigt Håker Flatens Knarr and many adhoc. He is a very unique voice. Rune Lohse has done collaborations with Peter Friis Nielsen, Michael Rexen, Klimaforandringer, Horse Orchestra and many more. He is as well an established drummer on the Copenhagen impro scene.

The music moves in waves and the possibility for every player to move in and out of the unity is evident. This is one improvised piece of music and therefore released as such.

I had three different people describe their experience listening to the record and this happened:

1. person:
You are in the club and it's very late at night. Maybe even early morning. The club is dim and you are sweating to the insisting techno rhythms. Suddenly you are in a forest and the music turns you over like a fish in the water. There is no place you rather be than this forest with its ever-changing rhythmic and melodies. You can hear the earth talking to the trees and the snow is blistering silently in unison with the birds - the birds beating drums in the wind - the wind caressing your hair - you are still in the club. The music is violin, trumpet, saxophone and drums. You are dancing in a lake and the music is healing you. You are in two places at once.

2. person:

3. person:
He says something then the other guy answers: "It is possible to address the issues at hand with a condense argument smaller than a particle whilst still laughing at your silly dad-jokes because eternity roams freely in your voice."
The first guy replies: "I have a drum and melody. Tender is the night."
I say: "The celestial life is bound to happen after you hear this music. There is no precise or correct way to describe a conversation besides knowing that you are left with a feeling of being."
